Congratulations are in order for Brooks, LeBoeuf, Bennett, Foster & Gwartney, P.A. who received the Innovative Community Engagement (ICE) Foundation Shine Bright Award for their ongoing fight against human trafficking and for their outstanding service to the community!
Managing partner Dean R. LeBoeuf and his daughter Nicole have been instrumental in drafting legislation and lobbying the Florida Legislature to pass additional laws to protect the victims of human trafficking and to hold hotels, motels, bars, and other businesses accountable for turning a blind eye toward these illegal activities.
According to the U.S. State Department, 600,000 to 800,000 people are trafficked across international borders each year. This phenomenon rips apart hundreds of thousands of families across the globe and is the world’s fastest growing crime. Fortunately, there are many local innovative leaders and advocates who are trying to combat this epidemic and protect victims.
The ICE Foundation is one such advocate.
The Foundation is a Florida based 501(c)(3) non-profit service corporation, dedicated to mentorship, service, and professional development of all people. This year’s award presentation was made at the ICE Foundation Fourth Annual Service Ball at the Florida State University Center on Saturday, October 13, 2018.
